Trentino sets a magnificent stage for the biggest day in off-road triathlon. It’s swimming, mountain biking, and trail running on a whole new level in the shadows of the Brenta Dolomites. Lake Molveno is cold, and can be chippy and choppy too on the whim of unpredictable weather conditions. Mountain bikers will find perfect dirt to rail the berms, or battle the mud down the mountainside. But on the run, it comes down to pure guts to race for all the glory in the sport’s ultimate showdown, and the chance to lift the first-ever XTERRA World Cup trophy.

The battle beneath the Brenta

The final showdown of the series and a double-feature weekend on a world stage, this stands the chance to be the single most contested race in cross-tri history.

The World Championship is a must-race for all series contenders so every elite from every region will be on the start line, and each athlete will know exactly where they need to finish to claim their share of €100,000 series bonus.

But perhaps even greater motivation is the chance to become a part of history as the 2023 XTERRA World Champion, or even the first ever double champion. The only thing that stands in the way is the waters of Lake Molveno, the trails of the Brenta Dolomites, and the deepest elite field in history all pushing harder than ever for that first place finish.

Alizée Paties: Why Mindset Matters
Alizée Paties (FRA) claimed the first victory of the XTERRA World Cup at the APAC Championship and now leads the series at the top of the women’s leaderboard. “It was a surprise but not a surprise,” Paties said. In a perfectly executed performance she passed current world #1 Solenne Billouin on the run to take the tape by a convincing gap of over 2 minutes. Her choice to wear a CamelBak under the hot and humid conditions in Taiwan might have been the key to her victory but, perhaps, we are now seeing a new side to Paties.
