The XTERRA Americas half-marathon and full-marathon trail runs will award more than $5,000 in prize money (available to everyone!), continental championship titles, and XTERRA Trail Run World Championship qualifying spots to individual and duos (teams of two) runners as one of the pinnacle events on the XTERRA Trail Run World Series calendar.

Join us and be part of a fantastic international event weekend with some of the best athletes from all over the world swimming, biking, and running right in Pelham, Alabama. We are looking for groups or individuals to serve as course marshals and sweeps, help with timing, and hand out recovery at aid stations.

The XTERRA Trail Run World Series is an inclusive series that invites all trail enthusiasts to join the XTERRA community as we connect, explore, and discover new and existing trails in idyllic running terrains the world over. Designed to mix community and adventure, the series is open to all runners, from amateur to elite, individuals and pairs, with over 30 races in 20+ countries, including the XTERRA Americas Championship on May 21, 2023 in Pelham, Alabama, and the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship on October 1 at Sugarloaf Resort in Maine. Runners compete individually, regionally or globally in the XTERRA Trail Run rankings, or push to the front of the pack in your age group to qualify for a place on the starting line at the annual and invite-only XTERRA Trail Run World Championship. The Championship weekend of events includes live coverage of the exciting new XTERRA Short Track off-road triathlon format, plus sprint, super-sprint, and full-distance off-road triathlons alongside 5K and 10K fun runs and the signature half-and-full distance trail marathons.

In addition, as part of the XTERRA triathlon World Cup, Oak Mountain will serve as the second of seven stops in the global series of events that will award $340,000 to XTERRA’s fastest professional athletes. Both the full-distance off-road triathlon on Saturday and the showcase Short Track event on Sunday award points to elite athletes chasing the series cash and crown. And for amateurs, there are 58 qualifying spots into the XTERRA World Championship triathlon to be held September 23, 2023, in Trentino, Italy.
In addition, the XTERRA Americas half-marathon and full-marathon trail runs will award more than $5,000 in prize money, continental championship titles, and XTERRA Trail Run World Championship qualifying spots to harriers from Canada to Chile as one of the pinnacle events on the XTERRA Trail Run World Series calendar.

BUMP, the local trails advocacy group, stands for BIRMINGHAM URBAN MOUNTAIN PEDALERS and their motto is “Build, Maintain, Ride and Preserve” ... the trails in the Birmingham and surrounding area. The new XTERRA Trail Run World Series includes both half-marathon (15-34km) and full-marathon (35km+) races, with individual and team (duo) categories available.
But racing duos who choose to suffer together must also finish together in order to be awarded points and Trail Run World Championship slots.
Every participants need to sign up for an Active. com account.
Choose one person as "Team Captain," and finish the registration process.
During the registration process, the Team Captain needs to "Create a Team."
The rest of the team members must choose "Team - Member," and finish the registration process.
During the registration process, the members need to choose the team created by the captain.

In order to respect the safety of our volunteers and staff, there will be a marathon checkpoint at Water Station 4 (approximately 20K). Anyone arriving at this stop after 11:45AM will be asked to stop.
