Stop #4 of the XTERRA World Cup marches into the medieval city of Prachatice, a renaissance village overflowing with history, tradition and XTERRA spirit. This has long been an XTERRA town and its inhabitants will be eagerly awaiting the action. In masses, they’ll watch the start in Ktissky Lake, then stomp into the valley, hooting and hollering as riders battle it out through Sumava National Park. In the Great Square, they’ll anxiously await the winners, hoping only that they’ll be wearing the white, red, and blue.

The battle of Prachatice

The second of 4 European stops in the series and the start of 3 back-to-back weekends of double-feature World Cup racing.

The historic town of Prachatice, where time stands still, will be a very different picture as the fastest men and women in off-road tri head directly from the town square into the Bohemian forests in a critical stage of the series. Once again the full-distance race will determine who will have the chance to secure more points in the short track race the following day. And with some athletes nearing their minimum race requirements for the series outside of the must-race World Championship, this race could determine who’s still in with a shot and who is out.

Alizée Paties: Why Mindset Matters
Alizée Paties (FRA) claimed the first victory of the XTERRA World Cup at the APAC Championship and now leads the series at the top of the women’s leaderboard. “It was a surprise but not a surprise,” Paties said. In a perfectly executed performance she passed current world #1 Solenne Billouin on the run to take the tape by a convincing gap of over 2 minutes. Her choice to wear a CamelBak under the hot and humid conditions in Taiwan might have been the key to her victory but, perhaps, we are now seeing a new side to Paties.

Solenne Billouin: A Champion Rising
All eyes will be on current XTERRA World Champion Solenne Billouin as the XTERRA World Cup makes its debut in Taiwan. The race has brought out the top five world-ranked women and Billouin will no doubt be a key player. She is excited for new opportunities on the World Cup circuit, hungry for stronger competition, and looking to open her season with a victory.
