XTERRA World Cup

Introduction

New in ‘23, elite athletes have an opportunity to compete in the XTERRA World Cup, a premier series of events that will award roughly $350,000 to XTERRA’s fastest professional athletes.
The seven-stop, 12-race XTERRA World Cup kicks off April 15, 2023 at the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship in Kenting, Taiwan, and culminates September 21-23 at the XTERRA World Championships in Trentino, Italy.

XTERRA World Cup Elite Entry & Travel Incentives

XTERRA World Cup event organizers will provide complimentary entries to the top 10 athletes in the World Cup rankings. Thus, the top 10 elite men/women at the Asia-Pacific Championship will earn free entry into XTERRA Oak Mountain, the top 10 elite men/women in the World Cup standings after Oak Mountain will earn free entry into the XTERRA European Champs in Belgium, and so on.
In addition, the top 5 ranked traveling-foreign elite men and women (not from that continent) in the World Performance Index to commit/pre-register their schedule by February 10, 2023 will secure free entry to those selected events. For example, if you are from the Americas region, and one of the top five foreign elite men or women to commit/pre-register by February 10, 2023, you'll receive free entry to the European and Asia-Pacific World Cup events listed on your schedule. The same applies to European elites racing at US or Asia-Pacific World Cup events; and Asia-Pacific elites racing at US or European World Cup events.
THREE FREE NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION: The top five ranked active elites in the World Performance Index (WPI) and the top five ranked elites in the World Cup standings are ELIGIBLE for three free nights. From this pool, a maximum of 10 athletes will be awarded comp accommodations as follows:
  • The top five elite men/women at the Asia-Pacific Championship (thus the top five in the World Cup standings) have priority to accept 3 nights free at XTERRA Oak Mountain. If there are rooms remaining (for example, if an athlete in the top five isn’t racing at Oak Mountain) then their spot will roll to the highest ranked elite (must be in top 5 WPI) who is attending Oak Mountain. Deadline to confirm Oak Mountain participation is February 20.
  • The top five elite men/women in the World Cup standings after Oak Mountain have priority to accept 3 nights free at XTERRA Belgium. If there are rooms remaining (for example, if an athlete in the top five isn’t racing Belgium) then their spot will roll to the highest ranked elite (must be in top 5 WPI) who is attending Belgium. Deadline to confirm Belgium participation is March 10.
  • The top five elite men/women in the World Cup standings after Belgium have priority to accept 3 nights free at XTERRA Czech, Germany, and the USA Championship. If there are rooms remaining (for example, if an athlete in the top five isn’t racing CZE, GER, USA) then their spot will roll to the highest ranked elite (must be in top 5 WPI) who is attending those events. Deadline to confirm CZE, GER, USA participation is June 16.
RACE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Athletes interested in receiving comp entries and/or lodging as noted above are required to pre-register by the following deadlines:
XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship: February 10, 2023
XTERRA Oak Mountain: February 20, 2023

No, elites can race as many or as few events as they'd like.
3
What does it take to be eligible for the World Cup Bonus?
You must start at least two of the three continental championships. The reason for the inclusion of this rule is to ensure that the XTERRA World Cup is truly global and rewards those athletes committed to racing outside of their home region.
4
