Kids Handmade Mexican Creations

Children are invited to make handmade Mexican creations, called "Ojos de Dios". "Ojos de Dios" are Mexican symbols of good luck, traditional works of art and are deeply rooted in the culture of the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madre. They are made from natural materials such as wool, wood and thread, while making them is a very easy and creative activity even for young children. Creating them is both fun and educational. Weaving encourages creative thinking, problem solving and enhances fine motor skills. At the same time, it strengthens concentration and develops the imagination. Having children weave together as a group is a wonderful collaborative activity interact, they laugh and chat as they work together.
