There are several ways to qualify to race at XTERRA Worlds:
1. Win your division at ANY 2023 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event:
2. Finish in a qualifying spot at a 2023 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event. There are additional qualifying spots at Gold events in Brazil, Taiwan, Lake Garda, France, Lake Scanno, the USA Championship in Colorado, Czech Republic, and Germany as follows:
NOTE: At all races, an extra qualifying spot will also be added to every division that has 10 or more racers on the starting line. For example, if there are 11 racers in any division at a Silver event, the top TWO will earn qualifying spots. If there are 20 racers, the top THREE qualify. For Gold events, as an example, if there are 11 racers in the men’s 35-39 division, the top FOUR qualify. *DNS will not be counted toward age group totals.
3. Receive a ROLL-DOWN spot from a 2023 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event.
- Initial qualifiers have two weeks to confirm and pay for their slot after their race. If they don’t take their slot, it will roll down to the next person in their division, who will also have two weeks to confirm and pay. This process repeats down to the top 3 eligible athletes in each division at Silver races, and the top 5 in each division at Gold races. Slots may roll further at the discretion of XTERRA officials to account for slot winners who previously qualified and are already registered.
4. The reigning 2022 XTERRA World Champions automatically qualify so they can defend their title in Trentino. The 2023 Champs will be invited to the 2024 World Championship.
5. Legacy slots will be awarded to XTERRA athletes who have raced more than 15 events over the last five seasons, or, raced in 15 or more past XTERRA World Championship races. If you meet either requirement, email entries@xterraplanet.com to request a legacy slot.
