The XTERRA Portugal swim takes place in Lagoa da Alverca, a lagoon that surrounds the village of Golegã for 300 meters. The start is in the water (single wave).

The XTERRA Portugal mountain bike course has a preponderant role at approximately 8 km. The bike course are at the agricultural plantations of the region.

The XTERRA Portugal run course has the peculiarity of being totally flat and largely spent among agricultural crops including fields of corn, wheat, sunflower, tomato or vineyards.
