Welcome Messages

The 2023 Asia-Pacific Championship, a Year Set to Make History

From April 15-16, 2023, over 1200 athletes from all corners of the globe will ascend on the tropical town of Kenting for an event that will forever be etched into XTERRA’s history for the number of firsts that are set to be witnessed and experienced.

The event will see the first stop of the World Cup, a milestone event in the story of XTERRA and a monumental step in the progression of off-road triathlon. We’ll also witness the first ever Asia-Pacific Trail Run Championship as the global trail run community is finally united in a single sentence. And not a moment too soon, we’ll see off-road triathletes from countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region finally racing together again as the XTERRA APAC Championship makes its first appearance since 2019.

The occasion is huge, and the numbers show it. The event will open with the XTERRA World Cup, where 30 international elites, including both XTERRA World Champions, will go head to head in one of the most competitive races in APAC history. The APAC Championship triathletes will follow close behind, with athletes from 33 different nationalities proudly representing their countries. And on Sunday, over 850 trail runners will gather in Kenting National Park to be a part of the inaugural APAC Trail Run Championship.

Thank you for being part of this historic event, and we wish you all the best on the trails.

“For too long we’ve been without our international community and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Kenting, Taiwan. We are also honoured to have so many international elites here in Taiwan, for them to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Taiwanese, and to give the Taiwan community a taste of XTERRA racing at the very highest level. Best of luck to everybody, and we’ll see you at the finish line.”

J-D, XTERRA Global

“The trails are ready and so are we! With the recently launched XTERRA Trail Run World Series only in its first year this year, April 16 will be, by a long way, the most significant day of the season so far. Both the marathon and half marathon offer an epic run through some of the most scenic areas of this beautiful island, and we can’t wait for the XTERRA trail run community to get out there and enjoy it!”
